Lebanese curves

Huguette Caland (b. 1931), "Untitled", 1971, oil on canvas, 96 x 96 cm.

A shower of records greeted the works in the collection of French critic Raoul-Jean Moulin (1934-2014), a key figure in contemporary art from 1960 to 2000. They included this pink square barely disturbed by the curves of a pair of buttocks, from Huguette Caland's erotic period, which garnered €96,000, collecting a French record on the way and posting the Lebanese artist's third highest price.
